The division of Health Management of School of Medical Education under CPAS aims at the improvement in quality of health through better management of health care and related programmes. Started in the year 1995, it seeks to accomplish this through health management research, training, consultation and networking in a regional, national and global perspective. The division offers two-year full time post graduate degree programme in Hospital Administration (MHA).
The programme is designed specifically to prepare health management professionals for major leadership positions in health care systems through inter disciplinary, problem oriented and student centered training. The Division has ongoing links with major hospitals and various governmental, semi-governmental and private organizations working in health sector.
The School of Medical Education, a self financing college, previously run directly by Mahatma Gandhi University till 2016, came into existence in 1993 with an aim of providing trained human resources in the area of allied medical and health sciences. Now this institution is under the control of Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a Society established by Government of Kerala.
This is the pioneer self financing institution in the state of Kerala offering a variety of allied medical and health science courses. This is the only institution, spread across four districts in Kerala, conducting more than ten paramedical and allied health science courses under a single organisation. The Under Graduate and Postgraduate academic programmes of the school are so designed as to prepare skilled professionals of high calibre. Academic training and practice are imparted in collaboration with the Government Medical Colleges and reputed public and private sector establishments across India.
